Racing
Jennifer Purcell won the Women’s Pro Race Today and Will Ross won the master 35 plus!
Two wins at Superweek in one day! Congrats and we are very proud.
They are both incredible representatives on and off the bike. Jen is the current USA Collegiate Crit Champion, from MSU.
Will is current Texas Masters Crit Champion, former State Cross Champion, and State Mtn Bike Champion and was a founder of Hotel San Jose 10 years ago. He has raced consistent, year after year and now he’s stronger than ever.
Its been a busy week in Wisconsin.
Oh, and on the THSJ Elite Team side of things, Heath Blackgrove has had a string of top 10 finishes and the team is looking strong in this very competitive series. Stay tuned for something big because the boys are poised for a victory.

I helped recruit Jennifer Purcell to the team over the last few weeks and unfortunately have created more work for myself!!!! Three races for THSJ and three podiums, 1st, 3rd, and 1st at Tour of Dairyland. She won primes, rode away from the field and basically put her mark on the last three races of the series in Wisconsin. We will see many more results from Jenn in the coming months.
We also had some very exciting results from Nationals this year. Carlos Vargas, finished 2nd at Elite Crit Nationals, with Josh Carter taking 7th. Cody and Travis did very well in the U23 competitions as well!

Last week I spent some time on the phone bringing back a former THSJ member and current Collegiate National Champion Jennifer Purcell. She was unable to make it to elite nationals this year but is using the time wisely. Today in her first race back riding for THSJ she won racing the pro women’s race at Tour of Dairyland — Fond du Lac Cycling Grand Prix and then Waukasha!
Jennifer won the overall recently at Tulsa Tough racing solo against full pro teams. We are glad to have her back on the team and are expecting big things!!!!

Nationals Baby
NewsRacingBY JOSH CARTER & CARLOS VARGAS
Since the start of the season, Elite National Championships have been a priority for some of us on the team. Unfortunately for the rest of the guys, they are from other countries and cannot compete for U.S Championships.
Racing this time of year is hard because everyone is on very good form. We have had a very successful season so far and felt confident that we as a team could pull off something special. For the first time in his career our very own Carlos Vargas received his U.S. citizenship and was able to compete for us. Needless to say this is a very special weekend for him and for the team. We have only competed in the criterium so far and it was fast. I am not sure exactly how fast we averaged for 80 kilometers, but I heard it was just a little over 30mph.
Another Win at “OKC Rocks”
Racing

After a successful night in McKinney, TX, with Ronnie Strange taking the win at “Bike The Bricks” criterium the team kept up the good momentum in Oklahoma City for the “OKC Rocks” criteriums.
Saturday’s 90 minute P/1 race around the Oklahoma State Capitol came down to a sprint finish out of a lead group of 7 riders which included Heath Blackgrove, Stefan Rothe, Josh Carter of THSJ and 4 other riders including former pro riders Patrick McCarty (RBM) and Brian Jensen (Tradewind Energy). With no success in splitting the group up the guys had to let it come down to a sprint where Jensen jumped early to hold off a charging Josh by just a tire width. Heath finished 4th, Stefan 6th and all other 5 team riders placed within the Top 20 on the day.
