Houston Grand
Racing
Team Hotel San Jose – BONESHAKER rider Logan Hutchings made it onto the podium with a 3rd place after great team work by Ryan and Chad. The pace was pushed hard by Ryan which allowed Logan and Chad to get away in the final break of the day.
Chad pedaled hard to get the primes through out the race which continually made the pace high. On the final lap GS Tenzing rider Scott Veggeberg jumped clear and the break didn’t follow chase. Just before the turn around point Logan Hutchings took a flyer to catch Veggeberg but he lactated before he could catch him and the eventual winner came past, caught and pasted the leader and he took the win.

Hammerfest Wild West
Racing
Fort Davis Hammerfest was the first outing for the new “Team Hotel San Jose – BONESHAKER” elite cycling team on the txbra calendar. Each rider made the drive to West Texas on the Friday before the race and managed to get a ride in once they arrived. As the riders climbed into the Davis Mountains smoke was on the horizon with a gentile smell of bbq filling the riders lungs the deeper they rode up the range.
Saturday began with a 11 mile Mountain Time Trial, first year rider ex European pro Ryan Wills had a great showing, placing 2nd only a hand full of seconds off the pace with Logan Hutchings taking 3rd to have 2 spots on the podium for the stage.
Saturdays afternoon stage kicked off late in the afternoon with a mix of Cat 1,2,3, and 4 riders which tackled 46 miles deep into the Davis mountains, as the stage started elite rider Chad Adair jumped away with two other riders and began to clock up a healthy lead over the peloton, sitting pretty in the peloton Wills was looking to get the 5 seconds that he was needing to take the lead by putting in some sterling attacks over the lumpy stage and managing to drop every rider expect the tour leader. Mean while Adair was still up the road and soloed in for a strong 2nd place behind a seasoned txbra calendar competitor.
With plenty of heat expelled on the road in the afternoon stage, much more was still to come off the road with another nasty wild fire kicking up and making life tough for the organizers once again. The following morning the sun rose along with the news that the wild fire was still amuck and the safe of the riders started to become a concern and the 73 mile road stage was cancelled and the GC from Saturday evening was the final standings for the race.
The team took 2 podium spots, a 2nd (Ryan Wills) and 3rd (Logan Hutchings) with Chad Adair placing 7th after the great ride from Saturday afternoon, Jimmy Miller made the best of a strenuous weekend and continued to impress with ongoing amounts of excitement after spending a few years off the racing circuit.
